Bitcoin (BTC) could become an investment target worth up to $2 trillion in 2025, thanks to the expected growth of the global money supply to $127 trillion, according to Jamie Coutts, chief cryptocurrency analyst at Real Vision.
According to him, the US Federal Reserve, due to the need for liquidity, could increase the volume of world money by $20 trillion, which would be a significant incentive for the pricing of the first cryptocurrency by market capitalization.
Coutts emphasized that historically, about 10% of new money goes into BTC. From the end of 2022, when the global money supply was $94 trillion, to today's $105 trillion, the BTC market has grown 5 times, adding $1.5 trillion to its capitalization.
With the US dollar weakening and institutional investors increasingly interested, Bitcoin is projected to reach $150,000 by mid-2025. According to Ryan Lee, an analyst at Bitget Research, the peak price in the current cycle could range from $118,000 to $150,000.
Other experts call these estimates too conservative. For example, VanEck expects BTC to exceed $180,000 in the next 18 months amid increasing market optimism.
However, Bitcoin faces significant resistance at $98,300. Breaking this mark could trigger a massive liquidation of short positions worth over $1 billion, which would likely be a catalyst for further price growth.
Given these forecasts, the next year could be decisive for the digital asset and the entire cryptocurrency market, strengthening BTC's role as a new global reserve currency.
