Bitcoin has the potential to rise to $740,000 per coin over the next four years

Bitcoin could rise to $740,000 per coin in the next four years, according to Pantera Capital CEO Dan Morehead. He believes that such a jump will be the result of the rapid adoption of blockchain technology in the financial sector, where use remains minimal.

“95% of financial assets are not yet on the blockchain. This transformation is just beginning. When that changes, we could see Bitcoin prices reach $740,000 per BTC,” Morehead said in a note to investors.

If BTC reaches this level, its market cap will be $15 trillion, still a small fraction of the $500 trillion in global financial assets. Morehead added that while it is difficult to predict the timing of such growth, it could happen as early as April 2028 or later.

Bitcoin has already experienced a three-fold increase by an order of magnitude, and Morehead believes that such a breakthrough is quite possible again. He called BTC and blockchain assets one of the most promising investment vehicles in his entire career, noting their unique balance of risk and reward.

BTC is currently trading at $94,500 after failing to break the psychological mark of $100,000. This temporary pullback only highlights the instability of the market, which is preparing for the next possible run.

The CEO of Pantera Capital is optimistic, believing that blockchain is only just beginning to show its true potential.
